SA7BII

Ham Radio Page

A hobby that has been and yeast in the background has finally become a reality. In the mid-seventies the radiointerest began  with 11 meter. The equipment was a President Mc Kinley 26-29Mhz allmode except Fm.
200 watt amp, antenna Superscanner. With  this i had many fun QSO with  whole Europe, USA, Australia, South Africa, Canada.

When the neighbors started complaining that it interfered with their tv sets had to turn off the amp and run locally.

We had a club named FC RADAR. There, we met almost every night. We organized fox hunting and the connection of rallies.

Then I went into the military and received by the financial soul to sell off some of the equipment (sin o shame).
I have
always been a bit interested in it, but never got around to until now organized a course that started the 19-9-2011 settled the matter and reported me to this course.

Have been there once, it seems like a very nice club with nice people.

So now it's just to learn.

I even has a second callsign used our contest.

Here we have the equipment today at home.

The antennas at home consists of a duobands "blind stick"

and a 4 element yaigi vertically.

For Hf a G5RV.

One project I've worked a bit with a so-called "repeaters".

So with the help of SM7GYT Gert we built one.

It sends the RU378 RU5 on 432,725 Mhz.

Built on 2 Motorola MC Micro with a filter between,

and a little simple logic.

Output 2 watts.

The sensitivity of the filter -114 dBm is equivalent to about 0.9 uV.

Works very good.

Duplex Filters from SJ's old repeatersystem,

that after a little trimming and a few MHz in shifts so they work great.

Antenna for this is a magnetmobileantenna  with a small "spring" in the middle.

Sits about 17 feet above ground on a plate dressed bay windows.

Because i live I in a housing area.

With a little trouble with noise and so on.

So I looked up a high and free good place in the country.

Where I could set up an unlimited number of antennas and no interference.

As a trial proceed, it became an Icom 706MKIIG with Remoterig.

The antenna for the shortwave is a Carolina Windom FD4 Dipole.

And for  VHF and UHF a Diamond X510 about 40 feet up.

Since there were no broadband in the country, I had to purchase mobile broadband.

The choice was Ice Net or Net 1 as it is called in Sweden.

So I run broadband from home and mobile broadband in the country, a little trouble at first with Dyn DNS but it has resolved .

Now that winter is raging, you can not fix and donations out there.

The first time we were there

Here is the midpoint of the dipoles and Uhf and Vhf Vertikal.

Putting up the antennas is SA7BBT Joakim and SA7BIK Mats.

This is the center point after the first time.

A blind stick Diamond X510 for VHF-UHF

and a Windom FD4 for short wave.

Here is mast up for dipolben one way.

The barn is 89 feet long with a tin roof.

The farmer who set up the antenna location is really a god man.

Tractor with loader and personal basket is not wrong.

Good thing you have "friends" who are not afraid of heights.

But by spring it will up a Carolina Windom 160 about 12 feet up, hoping it will do the trick.

Here are a Carolina Windom 160 antenna on the ground with Diamond X510 on top of the tube, after some strengthening of the mast, it was good.

Two amateurs

up in the basket at the other end of the barn

from left SA7BIK Mats, SA7BBT Jocke

Good thing SM7SKI Christer supports tractor

Have also set up a "little brother" FD4 Windom about 12 feet up.

It had also become a C-coil for 17 meters.

Windomantennen with Diamond X510 blind cane on top of the tube and 7 elements for 2 meters.

Here is the inside of the barn.

TThe cabinet at the bottom is to share the DTMF logic that tends to disturb a little.

We see the radio as the control logic at the top and logic on the shelf below.

Here we see on the top shelf of  the cabinet the Net1 modem.

To the right Remoterig modem.
Lower left PSU about 40 amps.

On the right we see the Icom 706MKIIG and LDG auto tuner.

Down a little unclear, the relay boxes for HF and VHF-UHF.

Here you can see the cabinets together

Clutch plate for antennas, etc.

Has also been aided by Mats SA7BIK to build a DTMF system

Where I can control most things eg, switch between four HF antennas, two UHF-VHF antennas, ground down all the antennas, locking functions, etc., etc.

Total for the moment I have 14 functions.

Nice to be able to control it from home.

Pictures of the building.

This is the relay box for VHF-UHF out,

with a line in and two out.

This is the relay box for the shortwave,

with a line in and four out

currently utilizes the one to a dummy.

This is the DTMF control unit

Coming more soon.

A big THANK YOU for all your help, I dedicate the following people.

Without you, this has not been possible.

SA7BIK Mats, SA7BBT Joakim, SM7SKI Christer.

And my son Andre.
